“Building Community, Restoring Hope and Transforming Lives”

C3 wants to see dignity and honor restored into the homes, careers and lifestyles of people. Our goal is to give vision and knowledge through the preaching and teaching of God’s uncompromised Word.

Building Community

In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem. Many have interpreted this city to be the place or city called heaven. But as you read the scriptures, the city is not so much a place as it is “a people.” God has called us to build not only a city, but a community of people! He has called us to build a house that promotes worship. This community will be a body of believers who actually will be seen as a shining example of the message of the gospel. As a human heart is the pump of life to various parts of the body, so will the community (the church) renew and revive God’s people and prepare them to provide the answer to problems in Hampton or wherever they go. Calvary Community Church will be a witness to the Hampton Roads community that the principles of the Kingdom of God do work, because they are already at work in us.

Restoring Hope

We know that the witness of the church (the people of the body of Christ on earth) can only grow strong as we allow God’s Word to grow strong in us. We’ve come to understand that since people build churches, it stands to reason that the goal of this ministry is to build people by restoring their hope through God’s Word. “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick, but when the desire cometh it is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12) We equip and empower the people of God to take the hopeful message of Christ into every walk and avenue of life (i.e., business, education, government, medicine, sports or wherever God leads).

Transforming Lives

As we allow God to work in us and through us we begin the process of transformation. Transformation begins with changing our thoughts and habits. We can experience the good life as we submit to God’s Word. “Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (Romans 12:2 MSG)
